Pre Tanning Tips
Before the Tan...
Before your spray tan appointment, there are a few important steps you can take to ensure the best possible results. Follow these instructions to prepare your skin for a flawless and long-lasting spray tan:
Exfoliate: The day before your appointment, gently exfoliate your entire body using a non-oil-based scrub or exfoliating mitt. This helps remove dead skin cells and creates a smooth canvas for the spray tan. Pay extra attention to rough areas like elbows, knees, and ankles.
Remove makeup and jewelry: It's best to arrive at your spray tan appointment with a clean, makeup-free face and a bare neck. Remove all jewelry, including rings, bracelets, and necklaces, as they can create unwanted tan lines or interfere with the spray tan application.
Wear loose, dark clothing: Choose loose-fitting, dark-colored clothing to wear after your spray tan appointment. Tight clothing or undergarments can rub against the tan and cause it to fade or become uneven. Dark clothing helps prevent any potential staining from the bronzing solution.
Bring flip-flops or loose shoes: To avoid smudging your tan immediately after the appointment, wear flip-flops or loose-fitting shoes to prevent the solution from rubbing off on tight or closed-toe shoes.
Plan your activities: After your spray tan, it's important to avoid activities that may cause excessive sweating, water exposure, or rubbing against the skin. This includes exercising, swimming, and activities that involve heavy physical contact. Plan your day accordingly to allow the tan to develop and set properly.
Note: If you are unable to exfoliate or remove lotions, oils, makeup etc, then we can use our pH Balancing Spray. This product provides your skin with light hydration, pH balancers as well as a new DHA enhancer technology to insure a darker, more natural looking color.

- Shave or wax: If you prefer to remove any unwanted body hair, make sure to shave or wax at least 24 hours before your spray tan appointment. This allows your skin to recover and reduces the risk of any irritation or product absorption issues.
Remove makeup and jewelry: It's best to arrive at your spray tan appointment with a clean, makeup-free face and a bare neck. Remove all jewelry, including rings, bracelets, and necklaces, as they can create unwanted tan lines or interfere with the spray tan application.

During the Tan...
- What you wear to get spray tanned will depend on if you want tan lines or not. It will also depend on your comfort level as well. You can wear an old bra and panties or a bathing suit. Please be aware that some cosmetic bronzer will rub off on what you decide to wear. The tanning solution washes out of most fabrics; however, it’s not recommended to wear wool, silk or satin. Bottoms must always be worn.
After the Tan...
- Wear loose fitting DARK clothes for at least six hours.
- Do not shower, work out, apply oils or lotions, or do any activity that would cause you to sweat for the same period of time. This allows the solution adequate time to interact with the amino acids in the top layers of your skin.
- When shaving, be sure to use a clean, sharp razor. A dull razor scrapes off more skin and tan.
- Long, hot baths, hot tubs, chlorine, excessive sweating and salt water can affect the tan on some people.
- Pat dry after a shower or bath -- do not rub.
- Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Hydrated skin will extend the life of your sunless tan.
- A Tan Extender Lotion will increase your tan longevity by 30%+ and give your skin the moisture it needs to prevent dry skin sometimes associated with tanning.
